Car owners in the province of Ontario are a worried lot. This is because car owners have to shell out higher premium rates against auto insurance covers. The price hike has the approval of the concerned governing authorities. So auto insurance companies are all out with their new hiked up premium rates. The past one year has seen an average increase to the tune of 7.8 percent. In fact some auto insurance agencies have gone to the extent of hiking up their rates double-fold. These frequent price hikes have naturally put the car owners into a quandary. It is high time some action be taken to control this rising trend. The opposition is all out pulling their guns by asking the regulators to roll back the hiked up auto insurance premium rates. In these trying times of economic downslide and recession, having to pay higher premium rates against auto insurance is absurd. In fact there are potential customers who back out from buying a new car just because of the high rate to be paid as auto insurance. Getting into the crux of the problem and sorting it so that both the auto insurance companies as well as car owners are happy should be the hour of the need.
